A good night’s sleep, pending.
Michelle Mobley-Tellis is a woman of little talk and much action. In the two years since her divorce, Michelle checked two goals off her wish list. In March she and Habitat volunteers will begin building her family’s three-bedroom home in Trail View. And, she just recently completed an online degree for medical billing and coding.
The new home means new opportunities for the entire family, including Michelle’s daughter, Makayla, 15 years, and son, Michael, 12 years. “The kids are very excited to have their own bedroom,” says Michelle. “They share now.” She continues, “We’re going to be part of a big neighborhood family. It’ll give us the opportunity to get to know everybody! My [future] neighbors have already offered to help [build] on my home.”
In contrast, the new degree means opportunities for Michelle. She currently works as a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care, providing full-time companionship and assistance to three senior citizens. “When my favorite client passes away some day,” she says, “I’m going to move on to another career.”
Michelle sums things up in this way: “We’ve had a lot of quick changes, and we’re ready for a big, huge, positive outcome that will change our lives forever.”
