Community partnerships help replace vehicles lost in last May’s tornado.

Bloomington, IN, May 4, 2026 – Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County announces support from Curry Auto Center in the purchase of two Chevrolet Silverado EV trucks, helping replace vehicles destroyed in last May’s tornado.

The new electric trucks will play an important role in supporting daily construction operations. Habitat staff will use the vehicles to haul materials, tools, and supplies to build sites more efficiently, ensuring projects stay on track and resources are delivered where they are needed most.

Curry Auto Center’s support comes at a critical time as Habitat continues to recover from storm-related losses while expanding access to safe, affordable housing throughout Monroe County.

“We are incredibly grateful to Curry Auto Center for their support in helping us purchase these trucks,” said Wendi Goodlett, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County. “Reliable vehicles are essential to our work, and this partnership helps us continue building strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter in our community.”

Last May, Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County was directly impacted by the tornadoes that swept through the south side of Bloomington. While our staff, neighborhoods, ReStore, and office building spared major damage, the two warehouses that we leased for storage and materials were hit. We lost construction materials, tools, and overstock items from the ReStore.

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County partners with local families, volunteers, and donors to build and improve places people call home. Through affordable homeownership and community support, Habitat works to create strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter for all.
